General overview
The Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz (http://www.uni-mainz.de/) is pleased to announce that it will host the third meeting of its annual international summer school focusing on the philosophy of Immanuel Kant. It will be directed by Prof. Dr. Eric Watkins (University of California, San Diego), who is a Fellow of the Gutenberg Forschungskolleg at Mainz (http://www.gfk.uni-mainz.de/eng/index.php), which will also fund the summer school.
It is being co-organized by Dr. Margit Ruffing and Patricia Schwab of the Kant Forschungsstelle (http://www.kant.uni-mainz.de/) and by the Philosophisches Seminar (http://www.blogs.uni-mainz.de/fb05philosophie/), both at the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz.
The summer school is designed for advanced PhD students, post-docs, and early career faculty (e.g., those who are untenured) and will last one week. Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed and lodging will be provided.
This year’s meeting will be led by Prof. Watkins, Prof. Dr. Clinton Tolley (University of California, San Diego) and Prof. Dr. Lucy Allais (University of California, San Diego/University of Witwatersrand), and will meet August 26-30, 2019. This year’s topic is "The Antinomy of Pure Reason".
